Urgent care services
Primecare's first class clinical response and primary care centres have enabled us to become a high performing provider of urgent GP services across the country. We are commissioned by Clinical Commissioning Groups in England and Local Health Boards in Wales and cover around 1/10 of the UK population.
We work in partnership with GP practices, A&E departments and NHS 111 to ensure that patients get the right health information and treatment at the right time, working through the night and at weekends. We also support some GP practices with their telephone calls during the day and provide primary care services for patients when their practices are closed for training.
Our highly trained doctors, nurses and care co-ordinators help with around 1.6 million calls from patients every year.
In some areas we provide a single point of access for a number of different services including GP out of hours care, emergency social care and dentistry. We also provide overnight and weekend district nursing services supporting patients in their own homes.
NHS walk-in centres
Primecare manages a number of NHS walk-in centres across the UK, open from 8am-8pm seven days a week for patients with non life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
We pride ourselves on offering fast access to convenient health care appointments with excellent teams of clinicians.
As well as running GP-led walk-in health centres, Primecare also manage GP practices for registered patients.
We mainly work in partnership with local clinicians to run high quality patient services.

This comprises of a single point of access telephone service, a care coordination centre and a nurse-led health care service, the rapid response service. We manage complex care packages for patients to prevent avoidable admissions and support patient discharge.
